What is the OZEV grant and how do you claim?

As of the 1st April 2022 the OZEV grant is only available to flat owner-occupiers and people living in rental accommodation (flats and single-use properties).  The OZEV EV chargepoint grant provides up to £350 off the cost of purchasing and installing a home charging solution.

Our Easy Estimator tool already takes this information into account to generate an estimation for your EV charger installation.

Previously known as the OZEV EVHS; Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme the EV chargepoint grant allows people who live in a rented property or own a flat with dedicated off-street parking a contribution to the installation costs of an EV charger.  Landlords and property managers are also eligible to claim additional support inline with the schemes eligibility criteria.

The EV chargepoint grant is available for:

  • Homeowners who live in flats
  • People living in rental accommodation (flats and single-use properties)
  • Who have dedicated off-street parking
  • Own, lease of have use of an electric car or plug-in hybrid vehicle eligible for the grant
  • People who have not already claimed the grant (either the EV chargepoint or the previous EVHS grant) for your electric vehicle.

Are all electric & hybrid vehicles eligible for the OZEV grant?

Not all vehicles are eligible for the OZEV grant; full battery electric vehicles are eligible, however a plug in hybrid vehicle CO2 emissions must be calculated below 50g/km to be considered.
