Zappi EV Car Charger

In this blog post, we will be revealing 5 predictions for the EV Industry in 2023.

1. More Ev’s means more chargers!

As more electric cars are manufactured and EV ownership is increasing, more chargers will be readily available through investment from the government. This promises 300,000 of public chargers in 2030, which is more than 5 times the current number of petrol and diesel pumps.

As this rollout happens through the electric vehicle infrastructure strategy, range anxiety fear will become less of a problem as we make the transition to electric more accessible.

According to the latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) we expect to see 1.8 million EVs on British roads.

2. Private Investment

For some time, car manufacturers have been building their own EV’s, and now some of the fastest or most luxurious electric cars on the market aren’t just Tesla or Polestar, but Audi’s and Porsches.

Whilst Tesla’s are still the most popular electric vehicle on the roads today, a number of more affordable EV models from competing brands enter the market, such as the Renault Zoe and the Peugeot e-208.

3. Reduced Wait Times

Due to the backlog of Covid halting the supply chain impacting EV manufacturing in the last few years, the waiting times for new EV’s is falling and will continue to improve into 2023.

However, renting a new premium EV rather than purchasing one has become a popular option for those making the switch and driving electric in 2023.

4. Tech Improvements

We can expect to see chargers get faster, and solid-state batteries have up to ten times the energy density as standard batteries, enabling faster charge rates and increased mile ranges keeping the batteries’ capacity for longer.

5. Electric Fleets

Businesses will look to limit carbon emissions in line with government mandates. We will see more businesses join the electric revolution in 2023 including business fleets such as couriers rental fleets and delivery vehicles.
